Shakira’s World Cup 2026 stamina on stage

The Colombian singer is celebrated for her unstoppable rhythm, something she delivers in concerts across the globe and once again at the opening of her fourth Football World Cup this year. She has now shared the habits behind her enviable physical condition.

In an interview, Shakira’s personal trainer described the hard graft that comes before the Colombian star steps on stage - a demanding routine she has maintained for decades, helping to make her one of music’s most high-energy performers. On the day of the opening ceremony of the 2026 Football World Cup, she again demonstrated impressive strength and endurance, and it is now clearer how she manages it.

Anna Kaiser’s protein-first eating plan

According to trainer Anna Kaiser, Shakira’s meals follow a simple structure: "Breakfast, lunch and dinner is made up of protein at every meal and fresh vegetables or small amounts of low glycaemic index fruit". Kaiser also says the singer "eats fish every day".

Hot soups as the go-to snack

Kaiser adds: "For snacks, we started introducing soups". In her view, these unexpected snack choices - even at 49 - need to be "filling and served warm".

"At four in the afternoon, when people usually feel like having caffeine and a biscuit, soup is an excellent option because it fills you up and gives you the feeling of a complete meal. It provides energy until dinner without being too high in calories", she explains.

So what makes soups special? "They can include basil, celery and acorn squash." Kaiser says the method is straightforward: simply "cook the ingredients and blend them with sea salt".

"It’s delicious and it only takes about 15 minutes. You can make it the night before. It’s like making baby purée, and there are countless very easy recipes. You can also make them with chicken stock, add vegetables, cook them and then blend them", she advises.

When cravings hit, the occasional ‘treat’ - if it can even be called that - might be "a rice cake with cocoa, half a protein bar or a chocolate tea with dried fruit", Kaiser reveals.

Two-a-day training built for a two-hour show

That tightly controlled diet is paired with intense - and, crucially, consistent - exercise. The plan includes two training sessions a day on two days each week, plus one session a day on the other three days.

"We alternate between strength and cardio intervals. Some days we do cardio only and then strength; on other days we start with strength and finish with cardio. We like to mix it up", she says. The idea is to "improve stamina to handle a two-hour show and, at the same time, have the strength and physical capacity needed for a five-month tour".
